AQSIQ to use new Implementation Standards on Supervision of Selective Examination of Product Quality since June 1

According to General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ): selective examination of products within the catalogue shall be performed as per requirements of version 2015 and that of those products beyond the catalogue shall be performed conforming to Annex to No. 53 Announcement after June 1 this year.
On April 29, AQSIQ published No. 54 Announcement of 2015 (Announcement on Release of Implementation Standards on Supervision of Selective Examination of Product Quality (version 2015) by AQSIQ), which proclaims the publishing of Implementation Standards on Supervision of Selective Examination of Product Quality (version 2015) and is about to take into force after 1 June 2015. In the meantime, Implementation Standards on Supervision of Selective Examination of Product Quality (1.0) (version 2010) and Implementation Standards on Supervision of Selective Examination of Product Quality (2.0) will be cancelled. These implementation standards involve 234 categories of products (refer to the annex catalogue for specific products), all of which have explicit scopes, requirements of selective examination and reference standards, etc. The selective examination of all products in the catalogue, including imported products, shall be conducted according to the latest Implementation Standards on Supervision of Selective Examination of Product Quality.
In addition, AQSIQ further specifies products beyond the catalogue in the No. 53 Announcement released on April 27. All local inspection and quarantine authorities shall implement selective examination on imported commodity (beyond those products that shall be inspected by them) from April 2015 to October 2015. The scope for selective examination includes imported commodity in the annex to the announcement and all local inspection and quarantine authorities shall determine the scope for such examination (released by all local inspection and quarantine authorities to the public) according to the features of imported or exported commodity within the jurisdiction. For imported products, the examination site is the import port, circulation area, distribution place and place of use; for exported products, the examination site is the place where manufacturers is located, export port and distribution area.
