Croatian firms acquire REACH and CLP duties

REACH and the EU Regulation on chemicals classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) now apply to companies in Croatia, following the country’s accession to the EU on 1 July. Croatian manufacturers, importers and producers of articles have a pre-registration period to phase in existing substances, starting on 1 July and ending on 1 January 2014.

Under the CLP Regulation, Croatian companies are required to submit a classification and labelling notification, within one month of placing chemicals on the market. This means that all substances on the Croatian market on 1 July need to be notified by 1 August 2013, said ECHA.
