[RASFF] Overview of RASFF FCM notifications in December 2015

The European Commission validated 270 RASFF notifications this month, including 241 notifications on food, 17 notifications on feed, 12 notifications on food contact materials (FCMs).



The major hazards for the 12 notifications on FCMs are migration of heavy metals and formaldehyde. Among the notifications, there are 11 of Chinese FCMs products, accounting for 91.67%, such as knives, spoons, forks, kitchenware, nylon clamps, electric ovens and blenders. Accompanying measures are also taken to recall or withdraw products.
