EU Commission consults on chromium VI in toys

Following the release of the preliminary opinion on chromium VI in toys, the European Commission and its Scientific Committee on Health and Environmental Risks (Scher) have launched a public consultation .

The aim of the opinion was to evaluate whether migration levels for the substance in toys and toy components need revising in the light of new evidence particularly relating to its carcinogenic effects.

Comments can only be submitted using the electronic template that has been set up, and they should be sent in by 28 September.
