Macedonia adopts EU N-nitrosamines directive

The Macedonian Official Gazette has published a product safety regulation, implementing European Union Directive 93/11, which concerns the release of N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances from elastomer or rubber teats and pacifiers for babies. The regulation was adopted by the Agency for Food and Veterinary Affairs on 3 October 2012, and establishes limits on the release of N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances at 0.01 mg/kg and 0.1mg/kg, respectively, from such articles.

The regulation takes effect on 11 January 2013
