ZDHC publishes Chemical Management Systems Guidance Manual for 2015

The global textiles group, Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC), has published Chemical Management Systems Guidance Manual (CMS) for 2015.
 
The guide provides method, structure and necessary documents to establish and support a CMS in the following 5 sections:

1. commitment to CMS – “a clear and public commitment to CMS”;
2. assessment, planning and prioritisation – “have a robust process for creating and updating chemical inventories”;
3. chemicals management – “senior leadership must commit and ensure the availability of resources essential to establish, implement, maintain and improve CMS and customer satisfaction”;
4. monitoring – “establish, document and implement a process to monitor progress towards goals”; and
5. management review – put in place processes for disclosing substances in use and engaging with stakeholders and management.

 
ZDHC, comprising of several apparel companies including Nike, Adidas and Burberry, came up with its may achievements and plans in the latest annual report to promote the environmental performance of textiles.
