GB18401-2010 Has Been Implemented
Standardization Administration of the People' s Republic of Chinahas published the new revision of GB 18401—2010”National general safety technical code for textile products”on 14th January 2011, which has been executed on 1st August 2011.
Standardization Administration of the People' s Republic of Chinahas published the new revision of GB 18401—2010”National general safety technical code for textile products”on 14th January 2011, which will be executed on 1st August 2011.
This Standard is applicable to the manufacture and sale of garment,decorations and household textile products.
The main technical differences between this new revision and GB 18401-2003 are listed below:
1. ‘Home use' has been added to the scope of application, and ‘Use’ and ‘Except when otherwise agreed by both demand and supply parties' have been deleted;
2. The definition of infant age has been altered from 24 months to 36 months,and height has been changed from 80cm to 100 cm ;
3. Product categorisation from A, B and C coding has been changed to a verbal description , and the pH value in category B of Table 1 has been changed from 4.0—7.5 to 4.0—8.5;
4. ‘4-Aminoazobenzene' has been added to the list of decomposable carcinogenic arylamines in appendix C.Technical Requirements
Technical Requirements
Textile products for infants should comply with requirements in category A; products in direct contact with skin should at least comply with requirements in category B; products not in direct contact with skin should at least comply with requirements in category C.
