National Quality Supervision Catalogue for Key Industrial Goods in China (Version 2016) published

On 14 February 2016, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) issues G.Z.J.J.H. [2016] No. 57 to print and distribute National Quality Supervision Catalogue for Key Industrial Goods in China (Version 2016).
 
National Quality Supervision Catalogue for Key Industrial Goods in China (Version 2016) is amended based on implementation experience of National Quality Supervision Catalogue for Key Industrial Goods in China (Version 2015). Combined with suggestions from the public, the amendment results from comprehensively analysis of sampling supervision, production permit, risk monitoring, consumer complaints and public opinion online to identify product risk levels scientifically.
 
The new version covers 5 categories (namely: consumer products for daily use, building decoration materials, industrial production materials, agricultural production materials, food-related products) and 45 subcategories (including: textile products, apparel & footwear, hats, children’s products, students’ products, electrical and electronic equipment, food contact materials, etc.), totalling 339 industrial goods.
 
The supervision scope of consumer products for daily use covers textile products, apparel & footwear, hats, daily groceries (including luggage and bags, simulation food, disposable sanitary products, etc.), furniture, students’ products, sports and recreational facilities, children’s products, audio & video equipment, IT equipment, household and similar electrical appliances, digital accessories, lighting, fuel gas equipment and telecommunication terminal equipment. Companies should strengthen quality control in 2016 to deal with supervision of competent departments.
 
Food-related products in the new catalogue focus on food contact materials made of plastic, paper metal and other materials, which seems a highlight for the category.
 
National Quality Supervision Catalogue for Key Industrial Goods in China (Version 2016) serves as a reference for all regions in China to formulate local catalogues for such products as their emphasis on quality supervision in 2016.
