China clarifies product categories for waste electrical and

15 October 2012，China's Ministry of Finance has issued a notice clarifying the product categories for the waste electrical and electronic products(EEP) treatment fund. The notice, published on 15 October, is retroactive from 1 July 2012.

It sets out clear definitions for categories of  5 products including television, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner, and microcomputer. The producers and importers of these electrical and electronic products are required to pay fees quarterly for the EEP treatment fund to the State Administration of Taxation and the General Administration of Customs, respectively.
