Jordan notified WTO to restrict hazardous substances in EEEs
Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) has sented a notification (G/TBT/N/JOR/45) to WTO about restriction the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to ensure the environmental protection against green gas emissions by disposal of waste.
This draft technical regulation lays down rules on the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) with a view to contributing to the protection of human health and the environment, including the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of waste (EEE); This draft technical regulation represents partial transposition of the European Directive 2011/65/EU.
The regulation is proposed to be entry into force on January 2014.
