EU Commission authorises solvent use of trichloroethylene

On November 24, EU Commission grants an authorisation to a textile manufacturer in Netherlands to allow the uses of trichloroethylene as solvents.
The review period for the authorisation will expire on 21 April 2028.

In accordance with Article 60(4) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, the socioeconomic benefits outweigh the risk to human health arising from the use of the substance and there are no suitable alternative substances or technologies in terms of their technical and economic feasibility. So such authorisation is granted in the end.
