EU science committee posts opinions on three nanoforms
The European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety has published its opinions on the risks posed by nano titanium dioxide, and an addendum to its previous opinion on nano zinc oxide used as UV filters in cosmetic products. The opinions are open for public consultation, until 6 September.
A third opinion relating to the nanoform of the substance 2,2’-methylene-bis-(6-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol) (MBBT), which is also used as a UV filter in cosmetic products, has also been published.
