ECHA announces CLH consultations for TBT and PHMB
ECHA has announced two consultations for harmonised classification and labelling.
Tributyltin (TBT) compounds are proposed as reprotoxic category 1b by Germany, which is also proposing to update the acute toxicity classification in the substances existing harmonised group entry in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation.
France is proposing to revise the acute toxicity classification of polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (PHMB) from 1 to 2. ECHA’s Risk Assessment Committee only adopted this category 1 classification in September 2011, but France says new data challenging this classification has emerged.
