C&K Testing's Speech on the 3rd DHPF 2016

The 3^rd DHPF (Disposable Hygiene Products Forum) 2016 had been held in Guangzhou during 12 May to 14 May 2016, when renowned experts from the industry gathered to communicate the latest strategic development and explore new opportunities and challenges. Ms. Laura Ho, Technical Support of C&K Testing, interpreted the policies for the access of disposable sanitary products to the China market and also shared with the relevant dynamics of the industry in China.
 
Disposable sanitary products refer to those disposable products that come into direct or indirect contact with human bodies for the purpose of biological hygiene or health care in our daily life, including gloves or fingerstalls, napkins, wet wipes, hats, underpants , phone films, anti-bacteria products (Liquid), wet wipes, masks, feminine care (menstrual hygiene), diapers (hygiene products for excretion) and condoms.
 
In view of the particularity, disposable sanitary products and their raw materials have to face more stringent hygiene requirements during their production, disinfection, storage and transportation. In 2015, the Authorities inspected 16,800 batches of imported disposable sanitary products worth of USD 737 billion, achieving a year-on-year increase of 2.47% in batches and a decrease of 3.04% in goods value. The products include disposable diapers, wet wipes, feminine care products imported from Japan, South Korea, the United States, Canada, EU, southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries or regions. The Authorities found 3,999 batches of such products did not comply with provisions with relevant requirements (rate of non-compliance 23.9%), which can result from lack of or non-compliant Chinese identification, failure in microbiological indexes, broken packaging and lack of certification or toxicology report.
 
C&K Testing advises businesses should have their products tested for microbial and toxicological indexes before the placing on the market. Importers should confirm hygiene and labelling requirements for their products of the targeted market to ensure regulatory compliance.
