Vietnam updates regulation on food contact materials and articles

The Vietnam Ministry of Health issued Circular No. 35/2015/TT-BYT to implement QCVN 12-4:2015/BYT–National technical regulation on the safety and hygiene for glass, ceramic, porcelain and enameled food contact article and packaging, which takes into force on 1 May 2016. In the meanwhile, Section 4.1 and 4.2 thereof on the limits of heavy metals in ceramic and glass containers are repealed.

The lead and cadmium limits in different food contact articles are as below according to the technical regulation:
