Taiwan's test standard for phthalates in children's raincoats enters into force

In the beginning of October, Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) had issued Announcement to give advance notice on amendment to “Implementation of Inspection Rules on Children’s Raincoats” to add test requirements for phthalates for public consultation. Up to now, it is known that the consultation period ended and the amendment entered into force several days ago.

On October 28, Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) issued another Announcement numbered J.B.E.Z. No. 10420005510 to amend “Implementation of Inspection Rules on Children’s Raincoats”. The amendment adds the test standard CNS 15138-1 “Method of test for determination of phthalates plasticizers in plastic products i. Part 1: Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry”, which is effective immediately.
