Taiwan includes RoHS marking into BMSI conformity assessment

Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BMSI) has announced to include Taiwan RoHS as an essential part of BSMI conformity assessment to apply for BSMI marking. Products falling under the scope shall bear the contents of restricted substances on the products, packaging, labels or instructions in accordance with relevant requirements for Section 5 of CNS 15663.

On 6 June 2016, BMSI updated the Detailed List for Electronic Products subject to Inspection Log/ Type-examination as below:

The abovementioned products shall additionally fulfill the RoHS assessment during BSMI marking to know whether the substances restricted by RoHS are present and their contents if any:

1. Register and obtain product marking certificate (RPC)

2. The packaging bears BSMI and RoHS marks

3. Conform to the test standard CNS 15050

1. “0,1wt%” and “0,01wt%” means the limits for the restricted substances

Scope:Electrical and electronic products refer to the devices and accessory products with rated working electrical voltages that do not exceed 1500V direct current and do not exceed 1000V alternating current

Overview: It covers restricted substances, content limits, indications and exemptions, but excluding safety, performance and electromagnetic compatibility and related test methods.

The restricted limits for substances are the same as that with EU RoHS.
