Six Chinese cosmetic standards seeks for opinions

On 15 March 2016, National Institutes for Food and Drug Control published Determination of Acrylamide in Cosmetics and other five drafts to seek opinions from the public. The consultation ends on 31 March 2016.

In order to strengthen safety assessment of cosmetics and improve related technical regulations, National Institutes for Food and Drug Control formulates six cosmetic standards as the following upon entrustment of China Food and Drug Administration:
1. Determination of Acrylamide in Cosmetics (draft);
2. Determination of Formaldehyde in Cosmetics (draft);
3. Determination of Lodopropynyl Butylcarbamate (IPBC) in Cosmetics (draft);
4. Determination of Sun Protection Factor (SPF) in Cosmetics (draft);
5. Classification Standard for Cosmetics (draft);
6. Guiding Principles on Performance and Claims Verification in Cosmetics (draft).
