Pet Products Testing
China has officially issued the new national standard for pet supplies, "Safety Technical Requirements for Companion Animal (Pet) Supplies" GB/T 43839-2024. This is not only the first national standard for pet supplies in our country but also a responsible commitment to pets and pet lovers. It will officially start a new chapter in pet supply safety from October 1st of this year. This standard applies to the manufacturing, sale, and safety evaluation of pet supplies.
Packaging Testing
On January 25, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) held a press conference to introduce five national standards for the express delivery industry. Among them, "Limits of Heavy Metals and Specific Substances in Express Packaging" (GB 43352-2023) is the first mandatory national standard for express packaging in China, which has been implemented since June 1, 2024.
Musical Instrument Testing
On December 29, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China) approved and issued GB 28489-2022 Limits of Harmful Substances in Musical Instruments, which replaced the GB/T 28489-2012. The nature of the standard has been changed from recommended (GB/T) to mandatory (GB), and the new standard will be implemented on January 1, 2024.
Disposable Sanitary Products Testing
China’s regulation on disposable sanitary products has been strengthened gradually as the market in China is on rapid increase in recent years. Here are the standards regulating the disposable sanitary products in China: GB 15979—2002 Hygienic Standard for Disposable Sanitary Products; GB 20810—2006 Bathroom Tissue (including Bathroom Tissue Base Paper); and GB/T 8939—2008 Sanitary Absorbent pads (including Pantiliner) (Not mandatory).
