Proposition 65 (formally known as "The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986") is a California law passed in 1986. Since its enactment, Proposition 65 has been the reason for reformulation of numerous consumer products to eliminate toxic chemicals under its listings.

The concentrations of heavy metals in Consumer Products had been reformulated by the end of 2014.

It is worth mentioning that NIOSH 9100 (NIOSH 9100) is adopted in exterior designs of jars, ring holders, salt and pepper shakers for Cadmium testing. However, the first adoption for such method is for lead.
