Helsinki, 16 June 2017- The member state committee (MSC) unanimously agreed identify Perfluorohexane-1-sulphonic acid and its salts (PFHxS) as substances of very high concern (SVHCs), and specify bisphenol A (BPA) endocrine disrupting property. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will include PFHXS in the SVHC list and will update the current entry for BPA by the end of June 2017.
AS early as March 2017, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) opened a stakeholder consultation for two substances of very high concern (SVHC) intentions (BPA, Perfluorohexane-1-sulphonic acid and its salts). Meanwhile, bisphenol A (BPA) has already been listed in the candidate list of SVHS, clarified as toxic for reproduction properties, and this proposal is aimed at adding its endocrine disruptors. While PFHXS and its salts will be listed in the candidate list as new SVHC substances, because its vPvB properties.
