It is said that 14 categories of products will be included under the Compliance Management Catalogue ofThe Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (also known as RoHS 2.0)as the first batch of products several days ago. The news sources from 2016 Annual Survey of Green Development of Electrical and Electronic Industry and Electronic Pollution Heroes Conference in Beijing on 22 December 2016. Mr. Lei Wen, Director-general of Energy-saving and Comprehensive Use Division under Ministry of Industry and Information, introduced the latest progress made in theCatalogue of Electrical and Electronic Products subject to Compliance Management of RoHS 2.0.

China RoHS 2.0 has come into operation since 1 July 2016. Pursuant to the Administrative Measures, all products listed under Compliance Management Catalogue shall fulfil marking requirements and be regulated under the Assessment System for Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products.

C&K Testing technician got contact with Mr. Lei and learned that the 14 categories of products, namely, refrigerators, air controllers, range hoods, washing machines, electric water heater, fuel gas water heaters, typewriters, copying machines, facsimile machines, television sets, monitors, microcomputers, mobile communications handsets and telephones referred in the conference may be included in the catalogue but it is not the final decision unless further discussion.

On 13 October 2016, Chinese Ministry of Industry, Information and Technology (MIIT) published the revision notification of one of supporting standards Marking for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Product (SJ/T 11364-2014). The Assessment System is still under development. But one thing for sure, it will include the requirements for voluntary certification Implementation Rules on the Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products uniformly promoted by China.
