In accordance with Leather Standard by OEKO-TEX, bisphenol A and aniline add to “Other chemical residues”, and the limit value for all product classes is also updated. Quinoline and phenol are to be found at the parameter “Other chemical residues” with the requirement “under observation”.

In accordance with Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX, bisphenol A, phenol and aniline add to “Other chemical residues”, and their limit value is updated. Heptylphenol, branched and linear, and pentylphenol, branched and linear are recorded additionally in the parameter “Surfactant, wetting agent residues”. The total limit values for alkylphenols and alkylphenol ethoxylates remain unchanged. In the new standard, azo colorants are tested, and so are genetically modified organisms (GMO) for products made of bio-cotton. The limit value for the group of short-chain chlorinated paraffins and ortho-phenylphenol (OPP) are lowered in the standard 100.

Through the above requirements, the OEKO-TEX intends to raise awareness of potentially harmful substances in textiles among enterprises. C&K Testing remind enterprises to pay attention to the amendment of harmful substances, and strength the cooperation with professional testing organizations to prevent subsequent risk efficiently.
