The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is proposing Proposition 65 maximum allowable dose levels (MADLs) for six chemicals, namely, Atrazine, propazine, simazine, DACT, DEA, and DIA. The substances are listed under Proposition 65 as they may cause reproductive toxicity .

The proposed oral MADLs are 100 micrograms per day for each of the six chemicals according to scientific methods in Section 25803. The proposal will be effective from 1 October 2015.

Any written comments concerning these proposed actions in any form can be sent to OEHHA. The public comments period will end at 5:00 p.m. on 27 July 2015 and all the comments will be listed on the website of OEHHA after that.

Note: MADL does not require, but may encourage, businesses to lower the amount of the listed chemical in their product to a level that does not cause a significant exposure to avoid health hazard. Besides, businesses can save their expenses as they don’t need to calculate the MADLs by themselves and may also reduce or avoid ligation fee for non-compliance.
