Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) issued J.B.E.Z. No. 10420005020 Announcement to give advance notice on amendment to “Implementation of Inspection Rules on Children’s Raincoats” on 6 October 2015. Public comments and suggestions are welcome within seven days. The amendment adds CNS 15138-1 “Method of test for determination of phthalates plasticizers in plastic products i. Part 1: Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry”.
Children’s raincoats produced or imported must comply with inspection rules and attach with inspection identification to complete related procedures so that they can be placed on the Taiwan market since 1 September 2015. Upon verification, competent authority imposes a penalty of TWD 200,000 to 2,000,000 in accordance with Article 60 of Commodity Inspection Law on non-compliant traders.
Reminder: Companies should test their products before placing them in Taiwan market to avoid unnecessary economic losses.
