Pubdate : 2016-05-26 Source : Unknow Writer : CIRS
Pursuant to the Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (known as China RoHS 2) which to apply on 1 July 2016, electrical and electronic products (EEP) falling under the applicable scope are only required to declare hazardous substances they contain to comply with Marking for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Product (SJ/T 11364-2014) currently.
The standard applies to electrical and electronic products (EEP) that are sold in the People’s Republic of China. The marking of electrical and electronic products include the information that where they contain hazardous substances, their environment-friendly use periods and recyclability.
It shall be noted that markings are only required for finished electrical and electronic products. Suppliers of materials and parts that are used to manufacture electronic and electrical products do not need to mark their products. However, they need to provide necessary information to their downstream users to help them determine the final China RoHS markings.
If certain hazardous substances present in a product exceeds concentration limits, the product shall be marked with logo 2 with its environmental-friendly use period (as indicated by the number in the center) determined by the manufacturer or importer as per SJ/Z 11388. Manufacturers and importers shall further provide names and contents of such substances as follows:
Providing a product contains several electrical and electronic products with different environmental-friendly use periods, it can be marked separately. While their environmental-friendly use periods are the same, the logo can be marked separately or on the product to indicate the hazardous substances it contains and the parts where they are contained.
