ECHA updates its guidance (Version 3.0) on substances in articles

Pubdate : 2015-12-21 Source : Unknow Writer : CIRS
Helsinki, 17 December 2015 – The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has now updated its guidance (Version 3.0) following the judgement of the Court of Justice of 10 September 2015 in case C-106/14. The new version corrects the parts with references to the 0.1% limit that are no longer consistent with the conclusions of the said judgement. A more comprehensive update of the guidance will follow in 2016.

Here are changes in this version compared with previous ones:
1. The original wording to calculate SVHC concentration in the article is deleted, and it frequently mentions the necessity to be in line with the judgement of the Court of Justice of 10 September 2015 in case C-106/14.
2. This guidance is a temporary update according to the ruling of the Court of Justice. It will be subject to a further, fully-consulted, update process during 2016.
3. The guidance enters into force directly without public consultation. However, the next version should go through public consultation and is intended to be published in 2016.

C&K Testing advises companies to assess risks with caution and refuse composite testing. Besides, a promptly update is necessary for those who’ve obtained composite test reports so as to ensure compliance.
