New York state has added a substance to its legislation banning certain flame retardants from use in children's products. The substance, tris (1,3-dichloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TDCPP), will be banned from CHILD CARE PRODUCTS, including baby products, toys, car seats, nursing pillows, crib mattresses, strollers and other items intended for use by children under three years of age, from 1 December 2015.
The state introduced legislation in 2011 banning tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) in such products.
