Published: Author: Visits: 1800
New standard AfPS GS 2014:01 PAK takes force to regulate PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon) in GS certification products on 1 July 2015, while the previous version ZEK 01.4-08 ceases to be effective since 30 June.

Electronic appliances, toys, food packaging materials, plastic products, rubber products, mechanical products and others that require application for GS certification shall conform to new standards for PAHs testing.

It is notable for enterprises that:
1. They shall test products of Category II and Category III in accordance with the testing of toys and other products within the scope of 2009/48/EC separately;
2. New requirement on the total of 18 PAHs is stricter;
3.Respective limit values of 10 PAHs (Benzo[a]pyrene, Benzo[a]anthracene, Benzo[b]fluoranthene, Naphthalene, etc.) are required, as well as the total limit value of 7 PAHs (Acenaphthylene, Acenaphthene, Fluorene, Phenanthrene, Pyrene, Anthracene, Fluoranthene).
