The Netherlands amended the technical requirements of the Dutch Commodities Act (Packaging and Consumer Products). The amendments were published by Dutch Ministry of Public Health, Welfare and Sport and have taken into effect on 1 January 2017.
C&K Testing the amendment (Netherlands amends food packaging regulation) in May 2016.
The highlights of the amendments include:
1. Revised the list of authorised substances in food contact plastics, paper and paperboard, metal and coatings;
2. Revised specific migration limit (SML) for come organic chemicals in plastic food contact materials.
3. Revised the SMLs for zirconium compounds in plastic, glass, glass ceramics and metals.
