On 26 December 2016, China conducted 230 recalls involving 6,176,300 pieces (nearly half of such recalls are electrical and electronic products).
The Administrative Measures on Defective Consumer Products from toys and electrical & electronic equipment expanding to children’s products, furniture, art, education and sports goods, food-related products, merchandise for daily use, textiles, garments, hardware & tools and building materials. The guarantee for consumer safety is improving.
Up to 25 December 2016, there are 156 recalls as regards toys and children’s products, involving toys, child carriages, children’s stationery, children’s wear, children’s footwear, children’s furniture and plastic articles for children use (totaling 334,800 pieces). The major hazard results in defects in mechanical and physical properties. There are 41 recalls as regards electrical and electronic equipment (totaling 3,039,300 pieces, accounting for half of total product recalls), involving household appliances, such as electric ovens, electronic stools, clothes driers and hand warmers. Apart from that, some food-related products, textiles and garments for daily use also were involved in recalls.
In 2017, General
Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the
People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) intensified recall system of defective
products and infrastructure gradually include consumer products that endanger
humans and property safety in recall category. Any failure to fulfill recall
obligations or concealment of defects will be punished. C&K Testing advises
