HK consumer council finds hazardous chemicals in child car s

In Sep. 17, Hongkong consumer council has released a series of test results of child car seats supplied for new-birth baby or children below 36kg. ICRT has 19 child car seats tested for their safety and hazardous substances content test before.

Three of the 19 samples performance weakly in the positive impact test. It's known that this is the first time to issue the hazardous substances test in such inspection. None of the samples fail test for hazardous colorants whereas some of them fail test for other hazardous substances test such as phthalate , flame retardant, organic tin and formaldehyde.

The whole hazardous substances’ test results are determined by the requests of Oeko-Tex.

●0.2% DEHP has been found in two textile samples

●0.5% TECP in one

●0.027% DOT in one sample

●Formaldehyde has been detected in 3 samples
