ECHA opens public consultation for six SVHC intentions

On 6 Sept. 2016, six intentions for SVHCs are under public consultation period, which ends on 21 Oct. 2016.

The six substances will be discussed by member states at the meeting after the consultation period and ECHA will submit conclusions to the European Commission. Final decisions will be concluded to determine which substances to be included to the list of SVHCs.

Tip:Substances that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment can be identified as substances of very high concern (SVHCs). If a substance is identified as an SVHC, it will be added to the Candidate List for eventual inclusion in the Authorisation List. Where SVHCs are present in products intended for export to the EU market, obligations such as information communication or notification shall be fulfiled.
