ECHA consults on two SVHC intentions

On 9 March 2017, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) opened a stakeholder consultation for two substances of very high concern (SVHC) intentions (BPA, Perfluorohexane-1-sulphonic acid and its salts). The consultation period ends on 24 April 2017.

It deserves special notice that BPA has been included in the Candidate List (SVHC list) for its reproductive toxicity, while France proposed to add its “Endocrine disrupting properties”.

Generally speaking, the SVHC list updates twice annually. The latest update is on 12 January 2017 (ECHA adds four new SVHCs in the Candidate List). The SVHC list now contains 173 substances (Download the Latest SVHC list).
