EC grants DEHP Authorisation for recycled PVC

On 22 June 2016, the Official Journal of the European Union has published a decision on the authorisation of DEHP allowing the use of DEHP in recycled PVC which can be used to produce other products.

In view of the relevant requirements of Article 60 (4) under REACH, the socio-economic benefits of the substance are beyond the risk to the human health and there is no safer substitute or technology available under current economic and technological conditions. Consequently the European Commission has granted DEHP authorisation for three businesses for specific use. The details for the authorisation are as below:
