On 26 Aug. 2016, Danish Environment Ministry released 2016-2017 chemicals action plan. Denmark's environment and food minister has called on the European Commission to set maximum levels for fluorinated substances in food packaging.

Denmark will work with France, Germany, Luxembourg and Sweden to push for common legislation on polyfluorinated substances in paper and cardboard food contact materials (FCMs).

Denmark will also monitor imports of articles containing fluorinated substances to identify ways to reduce consumer exposure. The new package will carry out a national information campaign to highlight exposure to possible carcinogenic and allergenic substances in coloured tattoo inks. C&K Testing advises businesses to deal with due care.
