Denmark released a ban on four phthalates

The Danish has released a notice on November 26, 2012 to ban the import and sale of products for indoor use which contain the phthalates DEHP, DBP, BBP, and DIPB, and products which contain these substances in parts of the products which may come into contact with skin or mucous membranes.

From December, 2012 It is forbidden to import or sell:

1) products for indoor use which contain one or more of the phthalates specified in Annex 1 in a concentration greater than 0.1% by weight of the part which contains phthalates

2) products in which parts that may come into contact with skin or mucous membranes contain one or more of the phthalates specified in Annex 1 in a concentration greater than 0.1% by weight of the part which contains phthalates.

The regulation will first be applicable on [2 years after publication in the official gazette, 'Lovtidende'] to electrical and electronic equipment covered by Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
