[CPSC] Overview of CPSC notifications on recalls in October 2019

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls 20 batches of products in October 2019. There are 9 batches of Chinese products, accounting for 45%.

Based on our statistics, the Chinese products notified through the CPSC in October were as below:

2019-10-04	Name: SPRI Ultra Heavy Resistance Bands Units :About 95000 Recall number :20-005 Manufactured in : China	The rubber resistance bands can separate from the handle and strike consumers, posing an injury hazard. 2019-10-04	Name: Mercane WideWheel Electric Kick Scooters Units : About 1800 Recall number : 20-702 Manufactured in : China	The brake caliper can fail causing the rider to lose control and suffer serious bodily harm, posing fall and injury hazards.	The firm has received 15 reports of brake failure and four reports of injuries including two bloody knees, lower back bruises and a sprained ankle.	Repair
2019-10-04	Name: Gordon Folding Knives Units : About 1.1 million Recall number : 20-006 Manufactured in : China	The locking mechanism can fail to engage on extension of the blade, posing a laceration hazard.	Harbor Freight Tools has received seven reports of the knife failing to lock, resulting in six reports of laceration injuries, including four that required medical attention.	Refund
2019-10-08	Name: Ronson Tech Torch Auto Start Units : About 660000 Recall number : 20-007 Manufactured in : China	The Ronson Tech Torch can continue to produce a flame after the activation trigger is released into the off position, posing a fire hazard.	Zippo has identified 36 reports in the United States of the Ronson Tech Torch continuing to operate after being turned off, including one report of minor property damage. 2019-10-10	Name: ductless heat pumps Units : About 5350 Recall number : 20-009 Manufactured in : China	The fan motor on the heat pumps can fail, causing the units to overheat, posing a fire hazard.	Carrier has received six reports of the heat pumps catching fire (one occurred in the United States and five in Canada). No injuries have been reported.	Repair
2019-10-29	Name: tassel keychain mobile power banks Units : About 14000 Recall number : 20-013 Manufactured in : China	The lithium ion battery in the keychain’s mobile power bank can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.	The firm has received two reports of tassel keychain mobile power banks overheating when charging and catching on fire. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2019-10-29	Name: Coastline Ceramic Mugs Units : About 34000 Recall number : 20-014 Manufactured in : China	The mugs can crack or break when used with or exposed to hot liquids, posing burn and laceration hazards. 2019-10-31	Name: All-Gloo Craft Glue Units : About 46000 Recall number : 20-015 Manufactured in : China	The glue contains methanol and poses a poisoning hazard to young children if ingested. The packaging is not child-resistant as required by the Poisoning Prevention Packaging Act.	None reported	Refund
