[CPSC] Overview of CPSC notifications on recalls in May 2019

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls 22 batches of products in May 2019. There are 11 batches of Chinese products, accounting for 50%.

The hydrogen in the megaphone's battery leaks when it is charged, causing the megaphone to burst, posing an explosion hazard.

Ion Audio has received five reports of speakers exploding including four incidents resulting in property damage to the surrounding area. No injuries have been reported.

When the metal around the USB charging cable comes into contact with the USB wall charger plug fork during charging, it will become electrified, causing electric shock and fire hazard.

Target has received 14 reports of the cables smoking, sparking or igniting, including two reports of consumer finger burns.

Accompanying remedies (refund, replacement and repair) are taken for such notifications.

As notified on the CPSC website, some customers have already got injured due to the potential hazards.
