[CPSC] Overview of CPSC notifications on recalls in May 2018

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls 24 batches of products in May 2018. There are 15 batches of Chinese products, accounting for 62.5%.

Based on our statistics, the Chinese products notified through the CPSC in May were as below:

2018-05-08	Name: Hauck Nerf® Battle Racer go-karts Units : About 26,300 Recall number : 18-150 Manufactured in : China	The steering wheel on the go-kart can detach, break or crack while in use, posing a laceration and/or collision hazard to young children.	Hauck has received 639 reports in the United States of the steering wheel detaching, breaking or cracking with one resulting in a laceration to a child’s face requiring stitches and one resulting in a minor scrape to a child's chest. 2018-05-10	Name: Ambiano mini deep fryers Units : About 35,000 Recall number : 18-152 Manufactured in : China	The deep fryer heating element can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.	The firm has received three reports of the deep fryers catching on fire, including three reports of minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2018-05-14	Name: Electric 14 inch electric chainsaws Units : About 1,020,000 Recall number : 18-155 Manufactured in : China	The power switch can malfunction and allow the chainsaw to continue operating after the operator moves the switch to the “off” position, posing a serious injury hazard to the operator.	Harbor Freight Tools has received 15 reports of chainsaws continuing to operate after being turned off by the operator, resulting in three laceration injuries including one serious injury to the arm requiring stitches.
