[CPSC] Overview of CPSC notifications on recalls in March 2019

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls 20 batches of products in March 2019. There are 11 batches of Chinese products, accounting for 55%.

Based on our statistics, the Chinese products notified through the CPSC in March were as below:

2019-03-13	Name: Kitchen & Table 5.5 qt. Sauté Pan with glass lid Units : About 12,000 Recall number : 19-080 Manufactured in : China	The glass lid can crack or shatter during normal use, posing a laceration hazard.	H-E-B received eight reports of the glass lid cracking or shattering, including one report of an eye injury.	Refund
2019-03-14	Name: Performer Pro Combo water skis Units : About 3,560 (in addition, about 700 were sold in Canada) Recall number : 19-083 Manufactured in : Taiwan and China	The skis can detach from the binding during a fall, allowing the ski to break, posing an injury hazard to the user	Overton’s and other watersports and sporting goods stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from January 2011 to April 2018 for about $300. 2019-03-14	Name: WIC nutrition plates Units : About 98,000 Recall number : 19-081 Manufactured in : China	The plates are incorrectly labeled as microwave-safe. They contain aluminum, which poses a fire hazard if microwaved.	Brush Art has received two reports of plates catching fire while in the microwave and one report of the plate melting. No injuries have been reported.	Replace
2019-03-14	Name: Kawasaki Mule™ Pro-MX™ off-highway utility vehicles Units : About 2,600 Recall number : 19-728 Manufactured in : Taiwan	The vehicle’s oil cooler hoses can separate and the fuel tank cap gasket can crack allowing fuel to leak, posing a fire hazard.	Kawasaki has received seven reports of vehicles catching on fire and being damaged. No injuries have been reported.	Repair
2019-03-14	Name: Mobile Warming Performance Heated Socks Units : 4000 Recall number : 19-082 Manufactured in : China	The lithium-ion battery can overheat, melt or ignite when charged with a charger other than the one provided with the product, posing fire and burn hazards to the user.	Tech Gear 5.7 has received four reports of batteries overheating, melting or igniting, resulting in minor property damage in two instances, and melting of the battery case in the others. 2019-03-28	Name: Baby Rattle Socks Units : About 22,600 (in addition, about 2,600 were sold in Canada) Recall number : 19-092 Manufactured in : China	Small ornaments can detach from the socks, posing a choking hazard to young children.	Midwest-CBK has received one incident of the rattle detaching. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2019-03-28	Name: ProPlus Brass Flare Swivel Fittings Units : About 140,000 Recall number : 19-094 Manufactured in : China	The fittings can leak, posing a fire hazard.	Interline has received two reports of the swivels leaking at installation.	Replace Refund

Accompanying remedies (refund, replacement and repair) are taken for such notifications.

As notified on the CPSC website, some customers have already got injured due to the potential hazards.
