[CPSC] Overview of CPSC notifications on recalls in July 2018

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls 12 batches of products in July 2018. There are 7 batches of Chinese products, accounting for 58.33%.

Based on our statistics, the Chinese products notified through the CPSC in July were as below:

2018-07-31	Name: Ascent Trainer® by Matrix and Matrix fitness elliptical Units : About 3,000 Recall number : 18-755 Manufactured in : Taiwan	Moisture from user perspiration or cleaning liquids can build up in the power socket on the unit, causing a short circuit, posing a fire hazard.	The firm has received 11 additional reports of sparking, smoking, “shorting out,” and/or melting at the power cord and socket. No injuries have been reported. These reports are in addition to the 44 incidents initially disclosed in the 2014 recall.	Repair

Accompanying remedies (refund, replacement and repair) are taken for such notifications.

As notified on the CPSC website, some customers have already got injured due to the potential hazards.
