[CPSC] Overview of CPSC notifications on recalls in December 2018

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls 19 batches of products in December 2018. There are 11 batches of Chinese products, accounting for 57.89%.

Based on our statistics, the Chinese products notified through the CPSC in December were as below:

2018-12-04	Name: Wall-mounted shower seats Units : About 7,200 (in addition, about 80 were sold in Canada) Recall number : 19-043 Manufactured in : China	The aluminum hardware supporting the shower seat can corrode, posing fall and laceration hazards.	Signature Hardware has received 194 reports of the shower seats breaking, including 37 reports of falls without injuries and 23 reports of injuries. Injuries include scrapes and bruises, three reports of lacerations for which consumers received stitches and one report of lumbar fractures.	Refund
2018-12-06	Name: Falls Creek Kids infant and toddler hoodies Units : About 25,000 Recall number : 19-044 Manufactured in : China	The zipper slider can detach from the hoodie, posing a choking hazard to young children.	Meijer has received one report of the zipper slider body and pull detaching from a hoodie. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2018-12-06	Name: Tuo convertible high chairs Units : About 32,300 (In addition, about 8,600 were sold in Canada)0 Recall number : 19-042 Manufactured in : China	The legs on the highchair can detach from the seat, posing fall and injury hazards to children.	Skip Hop has received 17 reports of the legs of the high chairs detaching. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2018-12-11	Name: Quick change jaw chuck systems Units : About 1000 Recall number : 19-045 Manufactured in : China	The jaws can loosen from the chuck and break off, posing a laceration hazard.	Penn State Industries has received seven reports of the jaw loosening or ejecting from the chuck. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2018-12-12	Name: Emerson Branded Sensi WiFi thermostats Units : About 135,000 (in addition, about 15,000 were sold in Canada) Recall number : 19-047 Manufactured in : China	Contact between the thermostat wires and household line voltage can damage the thermostat, posing a fire hazard.	The firm has received eight reports of burn damage to the thermostat, involving minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.	Replace Repair
2018-12-12	Name: Door locksets Units : About 13,500 (in addition, about 800 were sold in Canada and about 200 were sold in Mexico) Recall number : 19-0469 Manufactured in : Taiwan	The lockset can fail to open, posing an entrapment hazard and inability to vacate a location in an emergency.	The firm has received eight reports of lockset latch failures. No injuries have been reported.	Replace
2018-12-13	Name: Lotus Foods rice ramen noodle soup cups Units : About 239,000 Recall number : 19-048 Manufactured in : China	The paper soup cup’s labeling incorrectly instructs consumers to use the microwave for cooking, posing fire and burn hazards.	Lotus Foods has received 12 reports of the soup cups becoming extremely hot and/or sparking or catching fire during microwaving, including one report of a minor burn. Reported damage has been limited to the noodle cups.	Replace
2018-12-18	Name: TerraTrike Rambler E.V.O adult tricycles Units : About 450 Recall number : 19-052 Manufactured in : Taiwan	The torque sensor in the wheel can activate unexpectedly and cause the trike to power forward, posing crash and injury hazards.	The firm has received five reports of the torque sensor activating while not pedaling. No injuries have been reported.	Repair
2018-12-18	Name: Infant snowsuits Units : About 14,900 (in addition, about 750 were sold in Canada) Recall number : 19-053 Manufactured in : China	The metal snaps on the snowsuit can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.	The firm has received one report of a metal snap detaching from a snowsuit. No injuries have been reported.	Refund
2018-12-19	Name: Children’s soft books Units : About 1,180 (in addition, about 20 were sold in Canada) Recall number : 19-054 Manufactured in : China	A metal grommet used to attach a fabric flap to a page in the book can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.	Manhattan Toy has received one report of the metal grommet detaching from the page. No injuries have been reported.	Refund

As notified on the CPSC website, some customers have already got injured due to the potential hazards.
