22 June 2017, Beijing- China Electronic Technology Standardization Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as CESI) convened a consultative symposium on Electrical and Electronic products hazardous substance restricted use conformity assessment implement and its related documents. The symposium mainly forced on document framework of China RoHS conformity assessment system, voluntary certification rules, DoC specific method and content.
The article 18 of Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products points out that government shall establish related conformity assessment system and the electrical and electronic equipment which listed in catalogue of electrical and electronic products subject to compliance management shall conform the national and industrial limit requirement standard and administrate under the conform assessment system.
In June 2017, China consulted on proposed RoHS first batch of compliance management catalogue and exemptions and its consultation deadline is 28 July 2017. While the focus of this symposium is conformity assessment system cooperating with compliance management catalogue.
CESI as the deputy supervisor and secretary unit convened this symposium on behalf of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization department of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Representatives included relevant key enterprises at home and abroad, industry associations, research institutions and so on.
Experts participating researched and discussed on related compliance management, compliance suggestions and Document of compliance (hereinafter referred to as DoC), and made comments and suggestions from feasible side and reliable side on document system, content and specialized methods of DoC, and focus issue of submitting and preparing certification document.
This symposium will deepen the implementation of Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products, promote to establish and perfect the conformity assessment system. Also, it plays an important role in replace and minimize hazardous substance.
