On 13 October 2016, Science Office under Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information—Technology (MIIT) published the revision notification of one of supporting standards Marking for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Product (SJ/T 11364-2014). The publicity period for the standard ends on 13 November 2016.
Pursuant to the revision list, SJ/T11364-2014 has been revised as followings:
1. It clarifies that the marking of restriction of hazardous substances present in modules, parts and components of electronic and electrical products, such as display modules, circuit boards, resistors and fluorescent powder, can be in digital form rather than indicated directly on the product surfaces.
2. For an EEP with the function of image display, the digital marking of restriction of hazardous substances is only required to display on its start or on the sales packaging instead of displaying every time when it is started. The time requirement is also deleted while other requirements for digital form remain unchanged.
Please see our interpretation for China RoHS marking requirements for hazardous substances for more details.
The Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (known as China RoHS 2) went into operation on 1 July 2016. Marking for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Product (SJ/T 11364-2014) also apply in the same time.
