What is CCC?

Since its introduction in December 2001, China Compulsory Certification (CCC) is a compulsory scheme based on National Chinese Standards (GB-Standards) for products listed in the Catalogue of Products subject to Compulsory Certification (“Catalogue”). CCC is similar to other certifications for product quality standardisation–such as the European CE system–but there are important differences. It has been implemented on 1 May 2002 and became fully effective on 1 August 2003.

The China Compulsory Certificate mark, commonly known as a CCC Mark, is a compulsory safety mark for many products imported, sold or used in the Chinese market.

Which products require CCC?

The CCC mark is essential for both Chinese manufactured and foreign imported products. CCC Certification process conducts mandatory testing and auditing on products in the Catalogue. Notably, products in the Catalogue with no certificate issued from the designated body shall not be intended for import, sales or commercial use.
