November 8th, 2017- Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau intensively destroyed a large number of importing unqualified apparels, which amounted to 55 thousand, involving 400 batches and totally valued about 300,000 USD.

All the unqualified apparels destroyed on November 8th were seized by Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Shanghai airport and Waigaoqiao port. While the most of these seized apparels are well-known brands, including ARMANI, RALPH LAUREN, H&M, GAP, MANGO, M&S, VICTORIA’S SECRET, etc. Also, children apparel brands were not immune, such as NEXT, MAYORAL, OKAIDI, JACADI. According to a notification, the major issues of quality are Color fastness, PH and Formaldehyde. C&K Testing thinks the three prominent issues have been existing for a long time. Data from AQSIQ displaying, importing apparels destruction due to color fastness, PH and formaldehyde occur every month.

In recent years, imported food and imported apparel have grown at an average annual rate of over 5%, and customs clearance has become faster and faster. In the meantime, inspection and quarantine bureau strengthen the supervision of the quality of imported Goods.

C&K reminds, it is the trend that China strengthen supervision on imported goods, especially, consumer product concerning safety. So improving product quality should become a common understanding in manufacture.
