On 25 Feb. 2016, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) publicised inspection results for exit-entry commodities beyond the catalogue of 2015. The reject rates for exit-entry commodities are 38.9% and 32.6% respectively.

The supervision and inspection of exit-entry commodities beyond the Exit-Entry Commodity Catalogue Implemented by Inspection Quarantine Authority shall be subject to Administrative Measures on Sampling Inspection of Exit-Entry Commodities (Decree 39).

AQSIQ organised all Chinese Exit-entry Inspection and Quarantine Authorities to supervise and inspect exit-entry commodities beyond the legal inspection catalogue. Such inspection is conducted by Exit-entry Inspection and Quarantine Authorities at all levels at ports, domestic market, cross-border e-commerce, where entry commodities are put into use, where producers are located and distributing centres, covering brake gaskets for automobiles, brake hoses for automobiles, electronic toilets, household appliances, festival lighting chains, LED lighting, functional costumes, children’s wear, home textiles, students’ products, food contact materials, etc. Competent authorities have inspected 6,703 batches of exit-entry commodities with a reject rate of 37.3% (38.9% for entry commodities, 32.6% for exit commodities).

The inspection result for 12 major categories is as the following:

The overall result proves the quality of exit-entry commodities is undesirable.

AQSIQ has handled the non-compliant commodities as per stipulations and laws. C&K Testing advises importers and exporters to strengthen quality control so as to avoid trade risks.
