On September 14, 2017, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) published the No.73 notification, which requests public comment on the catalogue of the State Supervisory Sampling Inspection of Product Quality. This catalogue involves eight kinds of products, consumer goods, textile, electrical and electronic products, light industry products, Construction and decoration materials, Agricultural Capital Goods, Machinery and safety products, Electrical and material products and food-related products. The deadline for consultation is October 31.

Children’s products continue to be one of the highlights of the sampling inspection. The consultation paper has involved toys, baby carriages, children shoes, child safety seat, baby and child clothing, diapers, etc. C&K Testing reminds enterprises that GB 6675 (2014), applying to toys and baby carriages entered into force on July 1, 2016, with a year and a half of transition period. It means all these products sold in China shall comply with GB 6675-2014 when manufactured and sold, while children shoes should comply with GB 30585-2014Technical specifications for children’s shoes and baby and children clothing must comply with GB31701-2015Technical specifications for bay and children textile.

While for electrical and electronic products, they will also be faced with sampling inspection in 2018. Even China RoHS has entered into force on July 1, 2016, the marks and labels are still the highlights in the compliance issue. However, China has released RoHS first batch of compliance management catalogue and RoHS conformity assessment system, to regulate strict product technical index.

Sanitary napkins (including sanitary pads), tissue paper, wipes, toilet paper, including diapers classified as children's products should comply with GB 15979 Hygienic standard for disposable sanitary products.

GB 4806 series of New GB Standards for Food Contact Material came into force on the April 19, 2017 implementation, the views of plastic materials - contact with food cooking film, bags, boxes and melamine products, paper - contact food packaging materials and containers, Glass material - contact with food bottles (beer bottles, white wine bottles), heat-resistant equipment, metal materials - contact with food parts of stainless steel, aluminum food processing machinery and equipment (slicing machine, and noodle machine), metal material - Food of stainless steel utensils, insulation containers, if no accident, will be implemented in accordance with the new national standard sampling.
