AQSIQ cancels CCC during the selective inspection on children's products

To supervise and inspect the safety of children’s products, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) carried out a six-month program (from December 2014 to May 2015) on products that closely related with children’s health and safety, such as children’s apparel & footwear, child bicycles, toys, child furniture, child safety seats, diapers for babies & infants, and baby bottles. Legal treatment is imposed on 1,065 batches of products that failing to meet standards.

During the program, 1065 batches prove to be unqualified among 7,894 batches. In the meanwhile, an overall inspection was performed on enterprises with their toys and child bicycles under CCC management.

Results for selective inspection:
CCC Certificates: 8,840 in total, among which, 497 certificates of 280 enterprises are suspended, 258 certificates of 141 enterprises are cancelled.
Certification violation: 20 cases
Enforcement officials involved: 24,089
Quality violation: 102 cases, worth RMB 1.54 million

It has been known that AQSIQ gives priority to enhancing the quality of children’s products and the efforts to the supervision since 2012. Such six-month programs were implemented at the end of 2012 and 2014 respectively.
